Nick Booth

Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust

 

Nick is Collections and Learning Curator at the Ironbridge Gorge Musuem Trust [IGMT]. The Department includes the Collections, Learning and Interpretation Teams, as well as the Industrial History Support Officer for England. The role has oversight on all related activities across the IGMT sites. With a BA in Ancient History & Archaeology, and an MA Museum Studies Nicks research interest includes Victorian Social History, Victorian Engineering and Science History, and Museology. Nick previously worked as Teaching and Research Curator at UCL, and joined the IGMT from the SS Great Britain in Bristol, where he worked in the Brunel Institute, a collaboration between the University of Bristol and the SSGB Trust. In these roles Nick has worked extensively with Undergraduate and Graduate Students, including informal and formal mentoring. Nick is an Associate of the Museum Association (AMA), and is an approved AMA mentor, and is also a Museum Mentor with Arts Council England, and sits on a number of museum sector groups, including the committee of the Association of British Transport and Engineering Museums.
