Baskerville Project Coordinator (Part-time, fixed-term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 December 2026 in the first instance. The role is at 0.4 FTE (two days per week).

The post holder will work as part of the AHRC funded project: ‘Small performances: investigating the typographic punches of John Baskerville (1707-75) through heritage science and practice-based research’, led by Principal Investigator Prof Marcos Martinón-Torres jointly with Co-Investigators Dr Caroline Archer (Birmingham City University), Dr Anne-Marie Carey (Birmingham City University) and Maciej Pawlikowski (Cambridge University Library).

The role holder will ensure that the project is administered according to the terms and conditions of the sponsor and in accordance with Research Office and University regulations; they will assist the PI and Co-Is with diary organisation and all aspects of project management, thereby enabling the project to reach its full potential. The role is at 0.4 FTE (equivalent to two days per week), with specifics of working hours to be agreed.

The post holder will have several main areas of work. They will:

  • provide general administrative and logistical support to the Small performances research project, including

  • travel, HR and Health and Safety support

  • procure equipment and supplies

  • manage the project's finances

  • provide both internal and external communication support, including maintaining a project website

  • maintain project records, bibliography and archives

The role holder may be occasionally asked to undertake other duties in keeping with their post category and grade.

The successful candidate should have excellent administration and IT skills, be highly organised, and be able to prioritise and multi-task. A high degree of literacy and numeracy is also essential. A background in research administration or project management/coordination is desirable. Familiarity with the management of UKRIfunded grants would be an advantage.
