Bronisław Zelek: The story of the great Polish designer / Historia wspaniałego polskiego projektanta Bronisław Zelek (1935-2018) was a Polish a graphic designer, poster artist and type designer. Working during the heyday of the Polish school of poster design, his most famous creation was a poster for Alfred Hitchcock's film Birds (1965). This and some of his other works were used by Junya Watanabe of the Comme des Garçons fashion house, in his Spring/Summer 2017 collection. Zelek's Birds poster is also one of the few Polish posters in the collection at MoMA, New York. In addition, Zelek designed five typefaces, which since the 1970s have been used by designers internationally. His final and most popular, New Zelek, was used in Microsoft's logo in 1980.
