The Centre for Print is a recently launched a widely-accessible, public-facing resource in York which is designed to serve members across and beyond the City, deliver workshops and events, support exciting contemporary printers, and preserve traditional printing skills, equipment and histories.
It has raised more than £100,000 in Capital Funding, meaning it is enviably well-equipped, and more than £80,000 in priming and research funding. But it faces a final hurdle: it has been operating in a temporary space and the landlords have terminated the lease, leaving the Centre without a home from 12 December 2023. It has the chance to move into a fantastic building, and is seeking to raise £30,000 through a crowdfunding campaign to move the heavy, specialist equipment into this beautiful historic venue.
